Global Warming & ‘Climategate’

Al gore speaks outEver since the news broke about the scandal involving the alleged scientific fraud perpetrated by global warming scientists a few months ago, I keep hearing it was all a scam. Does global warming exist or doesn’t it? Does it really matter?
My opinion is that it doesn’t really matter whether global warming actually exists or not. Protecting the environment justs seems like a no-brainer. The quality of life is just plain better when we have clean air to breath and clean water to drink. We are healthier, the Earth is healthier, life is healthier. If we act and live greener, we do nothing but improve the quality of life.
Besides, what if the naysayers are wrong and global warming does exist? If we do nothing, our grandchildren inherit nothing. Life as we know it, simply will cease to exist. We will be the generation that condemned the Earth to death. If we do act and try to save the planet, what have we lost? — pretty much nothing.
The NY Times has just published an op-ed piece by Al Gore. It’s worth a read. We Can’t Wish Away Climate Change
