Who is The Damned Olde Man?
I am the one person uniquely qualified to shrink your head while expanding your waistline. I’m a chef. I’m a shrink. I’m a former deadhead, a former vegetarian, a former Democrat, a former Republican. I’m a rabid fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (LA3), and the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. I love good food, fine wine, and great beer. I love to travel, but rarely leave the country. Politically, I’m difficult to classify. I’m very conservative on some issues, I’m very liberal on others. I have rather strong feelings about men’s rights and consider feminism to be an ideology based on the hatred of men. I frequently refer to myself as a free radical. I can be cantankerous and intimidating, but my bark is much worse than my bite.

My conservative friends have frequently called me a “commie lib.” My liberal friends have frequently referred to me as a “fascist.” My religious friends call me a “pagan” and say I’ll be “damned to hell” for my skepticism while my atheist friends think I need to lose the religion. Needless to say I don’t quite fit into anyone’s neat little pigeon-hole and don’t subscribe to any particular political or social ideology. I refer to myself as a “free radical” with the full knowlege that free radicals are known to cause cancer.
About This Blog
This blog is about any damned thing I want it to be about. But mostly, it’s about the things I like: my favorite sports teams, food & drink, psychology, education, politics, and travel. My Back Pages are pages that each cover a topic of interest to me and each allows comments from visitors. TDOM Rants is the Blog and heart of the site that contains random posts, comments, and discussion. Feel free to leave comments, but I reserve the right to delete them according to my whims. Most deletions will be for stuff I consider offensive or abusive, but you never know I might use just any old reason. Then again, I love controversy so I’ll probably leave them up.
I have an opinion on just about everything and I don’t mind sharing it. Oh yeah, I couldn’t care less whether you like it or not. If you don’t, then “Get off my Goddamned Lawn!”
Site Navigation and Registration
There are several ways to get around the site. The My Back Pages section on the left sidebar is a page tree that can be used to navigate the pages. There is also a bar across the bottom of the Header with buttons to all the main pages. If you prefer to navigate by specific categories, there is a drop down menu for that and the Catacombs archive the posts by month. Both are on the left sidebar. There is also a Site Map.
The Boardroom is where you go to register or to log in. You must register to leave a comment. I do this to reduce spam and flames. Your first comment must be approved before it will show up, but all subsequent comments will appear right away.
On the right sidebar you will find links to other sites that I feature or visit regularly. Click on them to open another window and visit the site. If you have your own site, you are welcome to post a link where it says Link Your Blog. Each of these sites is also listed on my Links page.
All new blog posts appear at TDOM Rants. Some will also appear on the Back Pages that handle specific topics. The Man Cave is the page for men’s issues. Rave Reviews is for products and services I have used and wish to comment on. Gridiron Gawdz is my fantasy football league. In Your Face deals with all things culinary, and Jock Itch is the page for sporting news and views. Each page may contain one or more sub-pages for specific sub-topics. I hope this has either been helpful or totally confusing.
